«The vehicle had to arrive exactly at the appointed time. The thing is, according to our experts’ calculations, the cargo would only fit into the body of the vehicle and be successfully positioned and secured there if loaded faultlessly. Therefore, the vehicle had to have the necessary number of fastening systems and a truly ideal trailer. A 5,000 km race to the border now awaited the vehicle. The entire package of documents had been prepared in advance and certain agreements had been made with the warehouse service to ensure prompt and careful transshipment. KRAFTTRANS experts had ensured that the vehicle would be properly received at the transshipment site and prepared in advance the documents necessary for admission to neutral territory – and were also present at the unloading site in Urumqi, China, when the cargo arrived. Knowledge of China’s legislation and of the Chinese language allowed the employees of our 2 departments to jointly organise a direct delivery to the interior of China (a little over 1,000 km from the country’s border). The customs clearance of the cargo took place at the final point of the delivery route.»
